Article summary

The mapping tab gives a way to quickly map system parameters to output tabs. It also gives a status of each of the mapped tags connected to the object.

Mapping a Tag

Click on the field you would like to write to your control system to open the Tag Mapping form. This form will be pre-populated with the name, description, and usage. Next, select the device and populate any other fields you would like and then click confirm. Continue setting up the protocol specific settings as you would any other tag.

Mapped tags created in this manner show up in the tag list view as a light blue color with a gear, indicating that this is a system tag.

System tag cleanup

System tags are deleted automatically when the object that they are mapped to are deleted.

Output Tab

Once a tag has been mapped to, you can see the details of this on the tag’s output tab. This will also contain a warning message that the mapping settings cannot be adjusted since this was made as a system tag. For more info on the output tab, view the Tag Detail page.
