Article summary

Let’s kick things off by talking about system requirements. Our goal with Koios was to be as flexible as possible. To do this, we ship Koios as a Docker image. This makes Koios hardware-agnostic, allowing it to run on any platform that supports Docker. It also provides benefits like efficient resource utilization, easy scalability, and simplified deployment, making it an ideal solution for maintaining and distributing the software suite.

Preferred Installation Method

Although Windows & MacOS are able to run Koios using Docker Desktop, Ai-OPs recommends using a VMWare or Hyper-V virtual machine running a Linux OS to take full advantage of Docker Engine and Linux services.

Best Practices

During this tutorial, we are going to assume that you are following our preferred installation method.

Minimum Hardware Requirements

Koios is a relatively lightweight software package capable of running hundreds of models given minimal hardware. Ai-OPs does recommend at least having the following available to the machine running Koios:

  • 2 core CPU

  • 4GB RAM

  • 128GB Storage
